While much is happening digitally these days, when it comes to television programming, many people still rely on program guides. Tips, advice and colorful, eye-friendly design are arguments in favor of the printed program.
While the number of “typical” TV users is decreasing today, the situation is completely different for classic TV guides.
There is no shortage of free offers to find out about the current program. For example, many German daily newspapers, for example, have this feature: at least for that day and sometimes for the next day. There are also numerous apps available with the television program.
However, Germans are increasingly willing to invest money regularly to buy TV guides. There is a wide variety of offers: Hörzu, TV 14, TV Spielfilm and many more. Most people have at least heard of these names and have bought or continue to buy the respective magazines. But why this?
On the one hand, many people still rely on the print editions rather than the numerous apps in the Android, iOS and Windows Phone stores. And this despite the fact that program manuals, unlike apps, cannot of course address current changes.
