True replay functionality (recall via EPG) is only available via MR/boxes. Mobile content can only be searched for in media libraries and launched there.
Time delay
Compared to satellite or cable reception, IPTV may only have a time delay of a few seconds (depending on the feed to MagentaTV). With OTT, however, a few more seconds are added to this balance. So if you want to cheer in front of your neighbors, you might not want to watch the World Cup on OTT.
Switching times – Switching times on One or Stick are now comparable to IPTV
IPTV uses a special technology that reduces switching times to less than 1 second. With OTT, switching times between channels are significantly longer. Zapping is more fun with IPTV.
Image stability
In IPTV, streams are transmitted over the line, either via multicast or unicast, but always with QoS (Quality of Service). This means that children always have priority over their downloads and streams. Channels are only available at one quality level; the highest. So the quality is always the same. There are various quality levels in OTT and the choice is made automatically depending on the available bandwidth (this can also be an advantage, see below).
